Colonial and post-colonial history has indubitably disrupted gender relationships in African societies. In the light of Alice Walker’s Womanist approach exposed by Chikwenye Ogunyemi Okonjo’s Womanism and Odundipe Leslie-Molara’s Stiwanism, the current study purports to analyze gender relationships between male and female characters and explores the gains, pains, and worries of these post-colonial characters and the ensuing tension.
